NARIX

The North American Rope Innovation eXchange

The North American Rope Innovation eXchange (NARIX) is a twice-a-year peer-to-peer conference that brings together dedicated rope lovers from across the continent to share, learn, discuss, and experiment with the many facets of rope bondage. Our intent is to foster the growth and values of our community by empowering individuals to self-organize and provide resources and mutual aid networks to overcome barriers to community development.

Future events

Our goal is to host two conferences per year during times when it is socially responsible and legally possible to gather in person. The venue for each conference will change to try and accommodate different rope communities.

Our events typically involve 60 to 100 people in an intimate indoor setting.

What we believe

NARIX’s mission is to foster the development and growth of values based, in-person, local rope communities across North America by empowering individuals to self organize and providing resources and mutual aid networks to overcome barriers to community development.

Our values are the backbone of our organization and we aim to live them at each event and throughout our conduct in the rope community.

NARIX is a community of individuals with shared values but highly diverse backgrounds and perspectives. What we do here is intimate, powerful, and vulnerable—it is only possible within a culture of community citizenship where people feel safe to express their authentic selves.

We hold each other to a high standard of ethical behavior. Here’s the code of conduct for our events.

How we operate

In the interests of transparency, our policy manual is available for anyone to read. This document lays out how NARIX makes decisions, how our events function, our accountability policies, our steering committee policies, and every other aspect of our operations.

Accountability is fundamental to how we operate. Here’s how we approach it

NARIX is managed by a volunteer steering committee.
